Caller said he was calling from Thames Water Metere (Services?). Because my meter had not been read for some time and they needed to get someone to come and read the meter. Thames Water have been given the correct meter readings twice if I remember correctly. He asked when would be the best date and time to call, he was insistant that I give him a date and time. When I gave me a date, he then asked what time of day, I said morning, giving the time. It was as though he had not understood me, he told me that they may not be able to come at the time I had given him. It was a very strange call, asked several questions, one was to confirm that I the right person, what number should they call me on, where can they park, will I be at home when they come. As I felt uncomfortable at he beginning of the call I asked for proof of who he was, he then gave me a reference number (07252058). He also said that they needed to ensure that it was my meter and not connected to another, also, that they would need to turn off the water. As I said, it was a strange call.
